Capsules From Dragonball Don’t Make Sense

In the world of Dragonball Z, there’s a great deal of things that kind of suck. I’ve brought up that a handful of people decide the fate of everyone on the planet for good or ill. Millions die because of Goku and his friends’ bullshit.

Buncha jerks

That blue haired woman, her name is Bulma. She is the daughter of Dr. Briefs who invented the concept of capsules. How they work, is that you can press a button to make the object go into a tiny capsule that looks like this:

This could be anything from cars, motorcycles to whole ass houses. You press the button on top and whip it into an area that will be large enough for the item and wait for it to appear.

As you can see from the gif, whole ass house. This technology is insane. They do use it, I would say intelligently as you can have a single soldier carry a plane, tank or any number of other weapons on their person. But the implications of it are mind bending. Just like the scenario I always bring up when people talk about flying cars:

Person 1: Have you heard from Dave?

Person 2: Yeah, he was killed by a drunk driver.

Person 1: Oh my God. Where?

Person 2: He was asleep in his bed on the second floor.

This scenario must play out in the Dragonball world:

“I have to get to work! Where’s my car? Oh, shit I think it was in my pockets that I donated to Goodwill. Shit.”

You could lose a whole ass vehicle to someone putting it in their pocket and walking away. I mean, it also means that the transport industry can be reduced to a guy. No more trucks needed. No more cargo ships or planes. Congrats on destroying that industry Dr. Briefs. I’m sure it’s not the only casualty in the world of people’s jobs that you’ve murdered.

It reminds me of how no one talks about how in the world of Pokemon that they’ve developed a technology that converts creatures into pure energy.

Bulbasaur joins the infinite for a brief moment

What is that Bulbasaur feeling as every atom of his body is turned into pure light? Pain? Ecstasy? Resignation? We know from the lore that each pokeball creates a habitat that the pokemon would enjoy. So, when the pokemon bursts out of the ball it’s because it’s shopping for a new home and decided that it doesn’t like the curtains in the first one you threw. Which, I mean, understandable. If I’m going to be trapped forever in servitude I might as well be comfortable.
