It’s my birthday week and fuck it, I want to talk about my favorite things. Time for this blog to become even more indulgent than it already is. So, let’s start with what you read in the title. My favorite Pokemon is Lapras. A Pokemon that looks like a dinosaur and has a cool shell.

Look at that big old blueberry. They’re known for being gentle and kind. Every pokedex entry about them talks about how much they love people, their gentleness and that they love to ferry people on their backs. When I was younger, I fantasized about riding on one of their backs across the water. I’ve always been scared of the water but I don’t feel like I would be on the back of a Lapras. They would watch out for me.

The only other thing in their Pokedex entries is also they’re on the verge of extinction. Up until Pokemon Sun and Moon where I was surprised to encounter one in the wild. I caught it and I was told that their numbers have increased that they’re off of the endangered list. I’m sure it’s just part of the lore reasons but I think it’s because of this hero.
